Elemental mapping beyond the nanoscale
Urban et. al. demonstrate that elemental mapping with atomic resolution and energy windows as wide as 40 eV becomes possible in a chromatically corrected microscope. The experiments were performed with the PICO microscope at the ER-C Jülich.
FIRST corrector shipped to Japan
The Cs-corrector for the FIRST Megavolt electron microscope project has been shipped to Japan mid of April 2013. It will be installed in the microscope in May.
The second BCOR has been installed at CEMES Toulouse. Only two weeks after installation the system reached the target resolution of 80 pm. The BCOR is the new CEOS corrector for the correction of spherical aberration and off-axial coma.
Yuk et. al. published the application of chromatic correction within the TEAM I instrument for imaging of samples within graphene liquid cells. A reference to the Science article can also be found in our literature list.
The key components for this progress are CEOS's aberration correctors.
CEOS, founded in 1996 by Maximilian Haider and Joachim Zach, is concentrating on research, development and production of advanced optical components for electron microscopes.
These include correctors for spherical, chromatic and coma-type aberrations and monochromators.
